The Life Shop Announces Program That Helps Women Live On After Divorce
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 02, 2011
The Life Shop introduces an innovative way to help women alter their course after going through a heart-rending loss, such as a divorce or the break up of a close, special relationship. It’s a rejuvenating, 4 day getaway which brings women together in a shared experience they will never forget. The upcoming event will take place at the UCLA Mountain Resort, Lake Arrowhead, California, Nov. 3-6 later this year.
The goal of The Life Shop program is to empower women through personal development and shared strength. The Life Shop helps women reclaim themselves from painful losses and see new possibilities in their life. Many women feel a lack of aliveness and loss of identity when a relationship ends, and wither into a life that becomes something to endure rather than enjoy. For some, the impact can be devastating and they literally feel “broken up.”
The Life Shop can enable these women to discover their stuck points and heal the love scars which surface in their lives as they learn to move through their loss, recognize their unique personal assets, and discover a renewed sense of optimism. Co-founder Carrie Southern says “we aren’t taught how to face something as powerful as a divorce; we aren’t shown how to make our way through all of the overwhelming emotions and changes to our reality. At The Life Shop women can expect to feel a shift within themselves. They can expect to make powerful changes. They can most certainly expect to laugh and feel more alive!”
The Life Shop is the brainchild of founders and operators Carrie Southern and Kashka Hughes Clarke, two women who’ve known loss and everything that it delivers to self worth, identity and hearts. It’s been a life project of theirs to understand what it really means to let go of the past and piece together a newly empowered life. Their knowledge and approach makes them uniquely qualified to lead in this endeavor.
Recent Life Shop “graduate” Nancy R said:
“The Life Shop was a tremendous growth experience. Carrie and Kashka provided a safe, loving environment and guided us in processing life events and setting a course to a future of possibilities. We learned useful exercises and tools for increasing self awareness, self understanding, and self acceptance, as well as improving communication with others in our lives. I use skills from the Life Shop all the time!”

You may have not intended to do so, but I think you have managed to express the state of mind that a lot of people are in. The sense of wanting to help, but not knowing how or where, is something a lot of us are going through.
