Nissan North America, INC. is recalling about 1,788 2011-2012 Infiniti G37 Coupe and certain model year 2011 Nissan 370z vehicles manufactured from July 2,2011 through Augusta 29, 2011. Due to a programming error, the power window switch controller in the subject vehicles was manufactured out of specification.
The threshold for auto reverse activation is higher that the Nissan specification. Should a body part come in trapped by closing a window, a pinch injury may result.
Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the power switches with new ones free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin on or about November 26, 2011. Owners may also contact Nissan at 1-888-327-4236 or Infiniti at 1-800-662-6200. Owners may also contact the National Highway Safety Traffic Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to safecar.gov.
